comfort

I just read in a Runner's World article that, "Running five miles makes everything that isn't running five miles feel very comfortable." How true. Maybe that's why I exercise. Enduring the pain and sometimes self-inflicted torture that workouts can be, just makes everything else in life seem so comfortable. Every time I am completely still during the day, the comfort of the situation washes over me and frequently I can lapse into spontaneous sleep. I don't sleep, usually, but I can. And, as I write this with my ice pack wrapped around my knee (my post-run routine...no worries) having just taken my ibuprofen for the day with muscles still getting used to post-run inactivity, I bathe in the comfort that is my life.

Life post-workout, that is.
